Glad it's working out for you!

So, the idea with attachments was that it should be done as a main
Tomboy feature for use by add-ins. So, Tomboy would offer a
structured approach to attaching files, and add-ins could make use of
this. That's what the mail you're probably referring to [0] was all
about. Having attachments be a main feature of Tomboy would help to
make synchronization easier to solve (though still there are obvious
issues with the idea).

But nobody has actually worked on this yet.

I'm open to ideas, use cases, mockups, and (of course) patches about
note attachments. The most obvious use case is image support, because
in general, it seems a fair assumption that users would rather link to
files that live somewhere else on their computer, instead of storing
the file "in" Tomboy.

In the case of images, there has been some third-party work on an
add-in that lets you embed images, but it doesn't deal with the sync
issues yet [1].

I'd like to come up with something that makes sense for most
real-world use cases, and also allows sync to continue being a
reasonable proposition.

And of course, this is probably the best place to ask add-in
development questions, or any other questions about Tomboy.

No transgressions so far! And don't worry, this is a pretty friendly
corner of the community; we don't get too mean when correcting folks
on etiquette. ;-)
