Sure. I've made a few screencasts in the past -

Good idea.
I tend to make full desktop sized ones at 1280x720 or 1024x768, but
equally can do smaller ones if required. I record to ogv and have
uploaded to blip.tv where they do the conversion to other formats like
flash and mp4. If you just want an ogv and you work out the hosting
yourself, that's fine too.
Some of my early screencasts were not scripted but I kinda knew what I
was going to say. More recently I've been scripting them which helps
to focus the content and keep on track :)
