Interesting, I'm not sure why this is happening, so please file a bug.

I cannot reproduce this when dealing with bold, italic, or different
sized fonts. I only see the problem with the Timestamp add-in. If
you are seeing it in other situations, can you please give exact
steps?

Yes, and that is the current behavior.

That's a different question than before. I agree with you that use
the increase/decrease menu items should (when possible) preserve the
relative size differences. Please file a bug.
