The only way for you to sync over SSH is to download MacFUSE, set up a
mountpoint with it, and then point Tomboy's Local Folder sync add-in
at a sync directory in that mountpoint.

That's pretty much exactly how Tomboy's SSH sync add-in works, but we
haven't done the work to port it to MacFUSE so you need to do it
manually.

We're currently focusing our efforts on web-based sync, so I don't
expect any fixes to SSH sync on Mac unless we receive a patch from
somebody like you.  We're more focused on supporting sync with Snowy
and Ubuntu One right now.
