I've stated over and over that using the file system sync backend with
dropbox, u1, or similar services is not recommended and can lead to data
loss, but people keep doing it. Whenever I see a blog post about it I leave
a cautionary comment.
The only supported way to "sync" notes over dropbox is to set your note dir
to a dir in dropbox, and to use the notedirectorywatcher addin.
Unfortunately, some bugs with that setup lead to too much dropbox activity,
but afaik there has not been any dataloss reported with that setup.

Well, sometimes the notes in DropBox are not up-to-date. Again, I don't
blame
Tomboy, I am just asking if I am looking for trouble when using Tomboy with
DropBox. I
saw in the mailing list archive that had had problems because of special
locking files.
Or something special must be made on DropBox's side (proxy usage, "LAN
sync") ?

PS : I am using Tomboy 1.2.0 now.
