Hello,
I am currently developing a plugin for Tomboy, which allows you to
synchronize your notes to a webdav server (webdav support built-in, no need
for webdav-filesystem drivers etc).
Additionally the notes get encrypted before they are sent to the server. It
is not an OpenPGP encryption, but it uses the AES standard.
More information can be found at http://privatenotes.dyndns-server.com/ (there
will be more soon, such as details about the encryption that it uses).
I basically wanted to know if you are interested in my work, the code and
compiled version will all be released in the next weeks, I am planning to
put the code under GPL.
As you can see on the site, there is also some development going on on
Android and iPhone (however this is not maintained by me, but by some
colleagues).
Some additional notes:
- this is happening in the course of a school-project
- there should be further development going on at least over the next year
- i guess many don't really like the idea that this is not OpenPGP but
rather a "selfmade" encryption, however chances are good that it will get
substituted by OpenPGP in the future
- maybe it would be a good idea to split the encryption and synchronization
into several plugins
So, let me know if you are interested in general (in getting the code etc,
this is not a request for help/support just to be clear).
If you have any suggestions etc, feel free to contact me (preferrably via
this email address).
Thanks & regards,
Paul Klingelhuber
