For inspiration, here is an old baby of mine (2004 / iPAQ). A notebook of
sketches, composed by a selection window (list or icon views) and a
sketchpad. Even when a note would grow significantly, the thumbnail was
quite recognizable. I could dig out of the web underground a few screen
shots:
